Welcome!

This site shares my lifelong work with nature, my current educational training and consultancy, my work with the Sharing Nature Foundation, and my life in Findhorn, a spiritual ecovillage in the north of Scotland.

It also shares the nature curriculum I’ve developed as a ranger, guide and educator for over 40 years.

Ranger Roy Simpson at the Oregon Coast

I’ve taught and developed hundreds of lesson plans and activities designed for fun and learning. Teachers, you’ll find interpretive guides and lesson plans. Parents, here are ideas to deepen your child’s – and your own – experience of nature. You’re very welcome to download them for free, and I’d love to hear how you used them. I wish you many happy adventures in the outdoors.

Guides & Lesson Plans

Ranger Roy’s activity and history guides explore nature in her diversity, from trees and tidal pools to river systems and nature parks – along with lessons about Native American and Southwest history. They’re aimed at different age groups and many are based at the parks where he’s served.
